WHAT TO EXPECT:

"My message to prospective patients is that we have a results oriented practice. I take a little extra time with my patients, both in talking to them and in the operating room, in order to better understand what it is they are looking for--and to give it to them, as much as it is possible.

WHAT DO I DO DIFFERENTLY?

Many plastic surgeons stop at step 1. When a patient wants a tummy tuck, they cut off the extra skin and staple it back together. This leaves a rounded "pooch" on the profile view. Some doctors let their patients go back to work in a few days, in order to get the case-- and no one really has the proper down time.
For a tummy tuck, I do the basics, of course; take out the extra skin and fat and fix the muscle gap. I also create a slight upper midline depression that makes you look like you've been working out for a year. I cinch the skin in at the waistline, and fix any contour problems with the belly button.

Scars are designed to fit within most swimsuits. I take out a little extra fat in the center, if present. I also stitch with hidden sutures, in order to leave a better scar.

PATIENTS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD

I do have a lot of patients that travel across the country, and even from Japan or Afghanistan--to get these results. Also, I have "toys"--medical devices and injections--that few other surgeons have. I specialize in non-excisional tissue tightening and skin lifting, which works really well in the face, neck, arms, and breasts.

SKYPE CONSULTATIONS

I do Skype consults for those people who travel a long distance, in order to see if I can meet their expectations before they make an expensive trip to my offices. I'll reserve the final determination until we meet in person of course, and frequently the travelers will go ahead and book surgery. I do ask that they make one more trip for a "results" evaluation.
