Our dear cat, Rowena, died suddenly yesterday. She seemed fine at the close of business Thursday; Friday morning she was on death’s door and passed around mid-day despite the heroic efforts of Dr. Bragg and her team at Sylva Animal Hospital. We still don’t know the cause but we should find some answers in the coming week. Many visitors to City Lights Bookstore will fondly remember providing Rowena with a shoulder ride. She was a real love and will be sorely missed.

September is "get a library card" month. City Lights Bookstore acknowledges that you don't need to own every book on your to-read list (but we so appreciate being able to sell you those which you want to buy for yourself or as gifts).
Preparing for the impact of Irma? Don't forget to add BOOKS to your list! (They last longer than the battery of your e-reader if there is a power outage. 😉)
