Dixie Pest Elimination

It was in September 1979 when after being out of work for the 1st time in my life, that I was offered a job working with Orkin Pest Control in Dothan, Al. Newly married, living in Graceville, Fl. and expecting my first child, a son, Matthew, I gladly accepted the opportunity to work. After a two year employment with Orkin, I accepted a route position with Terminix Service and moved to Donalsonville, Ga in the fall of 1981 as the first service employee of the newly formed Branch office in Bainbridge, Ga. Looking to move up in the world of pest control, I accepted the service specialist position for the Florida Panhandle on October 10th, 1983 with the first commercial pest elimination company, formed by Al Burger in 1960, "Bugs" Burger Bug Killers, Inc. of Miami, Fl. was the premier pest elimination company in the world. Not believing in the concept of pest "control" but the unending desire for "elimination" of the pest problem for which you were originally hired. I spent nearly 16 years in this position, during which time the company was sold to Johnson Wax, and the name was changed to Prism Pest during this time span, I had a second child, a daughter, Allana, in 1985 and moved to Crawfordville, Fl. to put my kids into a great school system in January 1988. In April 1999, Prism was sold to Orkin and it wasn't but 4 months later that I accepted the Service Specialist position with Ecolab Pest Elimination in the same service areas of the Panhandle. In June 2005 I accepted the position of Service Manager with Rentokil Pest Control for the Florida Panhandle and the South Georgia region, being promoted 1 year later to Operations Manager in the same area. The position was eliminated and services in the panhandle were sold to McCall's and once again, I began a job search that ended with accepting the Service Specialist Position with The Steritech Group out of Charlotte, NC in September 2007. During my service with Steritech, I was awarded Service Specialist of the Year 2011 and Promoted to Service Supervisor in February 2012. In December 2012, My wife Brenda and I formed Dixie Pest Elimination LLC. in Crawfordville, FL where we have lived for over 16 years.
