The Limestone Fire Protection District was founded in 1965. The District, including areas along State Highway 20, consisting of 38 square miles of southwestern Rogers County. The District is comprised of residential subdivisions, rural homes and farmsteads, and light commercial and industrial developments.
Limestone Fire Protection District is a combination (paid/volunteer) department and has grown to include three fire stations which are supplied with state-of-the-art equipment that exceeds that of many city fire departments. Using a wireless, repeater-based paging system, responders are notified of all calls by our 24 hour dispatchers. We respond to structure fires, wildland/grass fires, vehicle accidents, medical emergencies, hazardous materials incidents and service calls. The District is funded primarily through property taxes; however, the District also receives subsidies through local, state, tribal, and federal grants.
Effective April 1, 2010 our ISO rating is Class 5.
