Jack Smith's Transmission & Automotive Service opened it's doors in 1962. It was started by NASCAR driver Jack Smith, who at one time owned shops in several states. Owners Tom and Kathy Warwick took over the Asheville location in 1999 and up until March of 2014, Jack Smith's Transmission had operated in the same location for the past 52 years. In March 2014, the old building was sold and the business moved just three doors down to it's new location at 240 Biltmore Ave. Jack Smith's Transmission and Advantage Automotive combined forces and are under one name.

Tom and Kathy Warwick with Shop Manager, Kerry Peffers, run the day to day operation of the Asheville shop. Along with our transmission rebuilding shop, we also provide excellent general automotive service. We can service most makes and models, foreign and domestic. Our work is guaranteed and we are a ATRA and NAPA Auto Care Center.
