Shown here is an actual pair of headphones made by the very young Paul W Klipsch. He was 15 years old! The year was 1919. He put together from raw parts this actual pair of headphones, starting his quest for great music reproduction. Klipsch showed some really interesting products at this year's Consumer Electronics Show.

This is Thiel's new high end speaker. Actually almost affordable at $35,000 a pair. But they were stunning. Real wood grains and super high gloss finish. They fly you to the factory to approve the wood grain before the polishing. I did not get to hear these. So many high end speakers are not very good looking and so many are really quite ugly. Very few are made of wood, or at least visible wood. Most of painted black, dull black. Some of automobile finishes and modular uneven body designs. This Their was really pretty.

ELAC... the 90 year German Hi-Fi company introduces new ultra affordable speakers designed by world famous and respected engineer, Andrew Jones. They are called the Debut 5 and sell for $229 a pair. Critics praise the excellent musical sound quality of the Debut 5 and the audio industry is disrupted by their ultra low price. Now, slightly over a year later, shown here is the Elac Concentro state-of-the-art, high end new introduction by Elac. These include the German companies JET air motion transformer tweeter with concentric mid woofer in a stunning design. My photo... $70,000 a pair.

Photo from the Consumer Electronics Show. At the super huge high tech LG Booth, showing off the color accuracy of the LG OLED TVs. They used a SONY camera to shoot real colorful scene and show it on the TV next to it.

Las Vegas, shot from the Foundation Room. Just returned from the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show. Lots and lots of people. Every hall, every room was jammed packed with people. Hard to move, long long lines to catch the bus. Impossible to get a cab. Even the high end audio rooms and hall ways in the Venetian Hotel were filled with people. Official attendance 160,000. You had to show credentials to get your badge. What was exciting, what was interesting..... check back I will be posting more info and pictures.
