Dr. Mary J Strength specializes in Pediatric Healthcare. With over 25 years of medical experience. She started her education in 1977 at University of Texas at Arlington, then went on to the University of Texas at Houston where she graduated in 1985. Her internship and residency took place at Childrens Medical Center at Dallas. She started her own private practice in 1989 and also became chairman of Department of Pediatrics at Baylor Medical Center in Waxahachie, TX from 1988-1993. Dr. Mary J Strength is board certified in Pediatrics. She is a member in good standing with AMA,TMA,Ellis County Medical Society, and Ellis County Education Board. She has been Certified in BLS and Neonatal Resuscitation for 24 years, and has never had a liability case in 24 years. Married for 24 years to Kevin Strength who is a member of City Council and retiree of the Waxahachie, TX fire department. She has four children and one grandchild.


James Hay RN, CPNP (Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner) has been apart of our practice for 8 years. James is originally from this area. He went to high school at South Grand Prairie, then graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington in 1988 with a Bachelors degree in Nursing. After 10 years of working as an RN, in the pediatric and Neonatal ICU settings, he went back to school and graduated 2nd in his class with a Masters Degree in Pediatrics from TWU. He has worked at Parkland Hospital in Dallas as a PNP in the Newborn Nursery for 7 years, and 1 year at Childrens Medical Center in the Orthopedic department. Married for 20 years with three children.
