KXRO has garnered several professional news awards over the years; most recently the Associated Press Station of the Year 'Mark Twain' award. Also, the station has achieved various award from the Society of Professional Journalist and AP honors for News and Sports reporting. Plus, KXRO was nominated for the Crystal Award for Excellence in Community Broadcasting two years in a row.
