All Saints Episcopal Church added 22 new photos to the album: Hurricane Cleanup — at All Saints Episcopal Church.
Folks turned out Saturday morning with hats, gloves, rakes, hoes, wheelbarrows, leaf blowers and garbage cans to clean up the grounds of All Saints after Hurricane Irma. With many hands and friendly chatter, the work went quickly, from hauling bigger branches to filling garbage cans with moss and debris, the grounds got a good cleaning. Even the roof of Greene Hall was brushed off and gutters cleaned out. Everything is ready for services on Sunday. Thanks to everyone who came and pitched in, including those who brought water, beverages and snacks for the hot and sweaty workers. Thank you, Rev. Janet, for your active leadership and enthusiasm to keep everyone going. What a team All Saints has!

All Saints Episcopal Church added 7 new photos to the album: Shelter from the storm.
Ellen Lightner and a hearty band of All Saints volunteers manned an impromptu emergency shelter in lower Greene Hall on Sunday night as Hurricane Irma moved toward Pinellas County. They had no beds or blankets, but it was a safe, dry place to wait out the storm. They ended up with 24 people and their pets, including three cats, two dogs, but no hampsters. Desperate people and pets kept arriving during the stormy evening. Ellen made a big pot of chicken, veggies and rice soup from food that would have gone bad. They took the dogs in the playground area to tire them out. As Ellen noted that night, “We were truly refugees in the house of the Lord and praying for His protection!” By Monday morning, after the storm, Ellen reported that everyone went home, safe with power except one.
