Eastern Dentists Insurance Company (EDIC) is a malpractice insurance provider run on a not-for-profit basis, founded in 1992 by the Dental Society of Massachusetts. The company was expressly formed to control the rising costs of dental malpractice insurance and allow dentist colleagues to control their own destinies. Since its inception, EDIC has grown to include thousands of member dentists throughout the Northeast, and Mid-Atlantic states.
To this day, EDIC remains committed to the profession of dentistry. Its Board of Directors is comprised of all dentists, some of whom are affiliated with dental schools.
EDIC is endorsed by the Massachusetts Dental Society and the Rhode Island Dental Association, and has a strong clinical education partnership with east coast dental schools and their alumni associations.
