Koinonia Farm is an intentional Christian community located in Americus, GA. We were founded in 1942 by two couples: Clarence and Florence Jordan and Martin and Mabel England. Through our common life, we seek to live as a demonstration plot for the Kingdom of God.
We're well known around the world for our involvement in the Civil Rights Movement and as the birthplace of several organizations, including Jubilee Partners, Habitat for Humanity, and the Fuller Center for Housing.
Before his death, Clarence Jordan composed several volumes of "The Cotton Patch Gospels" which were later made into "The Cotton Patch Gospel Musical."
Today, we seek to continue this life as a demonstration plot for the kingdom of God, living a life based on the early church as described in the Acts of the apostles. Our life together is based on five pillars: Prayer, work, study, service and fellowship.
Hundreds of people visit the farm each year for tours, retreats, educational seminars, or just to share in our daily life. It is a place of renewal for the mind, body and soul.
