Marshall, Virginia, 2012 - Marshall Ford has been servicing· the community of Fauquier County, Marshall, VA since its doors opened, November 23, 1915. Marshall Ford is the oldest Ford Dealer in the United States continuously operating in the same location and building. Marshall Ford is currently owned and operated by David Baird and Thomas O'Brien for the last 23 years. The Model T was the first Ford to arrive at the dealership. In 1915 Henry Ford would ship vehicles by train from the factory to the Marshall Train Depot. Marshall Ford would then pick up and complete final assembly using the wooden shipping crates as the floor boards for the vehicles. In 1917 Ford introduced trucks and they quickly became the hottest seller. 97 years later trucks continue to be Marshall Ford's number one seller. The long term success demonstrated by Marshall Ford is a great example of the kind of success still possible even in today's economy. The dealership has survived The Great Depression, 17 Recessions and 24 Presidential Elections with the 25th election in 2012.
