Rick Brown along with his brother Dave began Riverview Flower Farm in 1982. The nursery has grown steadily over the last 28 years and now supplies 144 Florida Home Depot garden centers with Florida Friendly Plants and native wildflowers. Their water conservation efforts have earned them awards and recognition. Rick and Dave continue to work closely with the University of Florida where they were educated in horticulture to further their production knowledge. They were the first Florida nursery to sign on to the BMP (Best Management Practices) program for nurseries coordinated by the Dept of Environmental Protection and the U of F to protect the Florida environment. Rick and Dave also received the Florida Commissioner of Agricultures Environmental Leadership Award.
