Our heartfelt love and sympathy goes out to our dear brother and sister Danny and Virginia Potts. Danny's sister Linda Kay Potts graduated to her heavenly home last evening about 10:30pm. Sister Virginia wants everyone at Acts to know Linda passed peacefully and was a very strong Christian her entire life- saying all day yesterday-" I want to go home" and she did! Her funeral and visitation will be at Oaks and Nichols funeral home in Columbia TN. The family will be receiving friends tomorrow (Jan 20th) starting at 2 o'clock pm until 8pm and starting again Monday morning at 11 o'clock. The funeral service will be Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock pm. Sister Virginia and Bro Danny would like us to express their thanks to everyone for your prayers and kindness. As their pastors we would like to thank everyone at Acts in advance for showing your love and support in every way possible to Virginia and Danny during this difficult time of loss. God bless you http://www.oakesandnichols.com/obituaries.aspx?turl=http://hosting-24758.tributes.com/obituary/show/linda-kay-potts-105745000

Lance the boil of bitterness. Harboring bitterness/forgiveness is too high a price to pay when you consider that it results in God turning a deaf ear to our prayers. “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.” Mark 11:25-26 Selah

Having fond memories of our precious Pastor J. B. Watts ...affectionately "Papa Watts" at the old Full Gospel Mission in Ardmore AL. The congregation gathered around and joined in singing and praising God in true heartfelt worship with him. I can just see him now strumming his old flattop guitar singing this song. SOMEBODY LOVES ME I’m in love with my Savior and He’s in love with me, He is with me from day to day, what a friend is He, Watches over me while I sleep, hears me when I pray, I’m as happy as I can be, and I now can say: Somebody loves me, answers my prayers, I love Somebody, I know He cares; Somebody tells me not to repine, That Somebody is Jesus, and I know He’s mine. You’ll be happy if you will let Jesus have His way, He has work for us all to do every passing day; Feed the hungry and cheer the sad, for the sinner pray; You’ll have joy that you never had, and you then can say: Somebody loves me, answers my prayers, I love Somebody, I know He cares; Somebody tells me not to repine, That Somebody is Jesus, and I know He’s mine. Then at last when our work is done, He will call us home To a mansion He has prepared, never more to roam; We’ll sit down by the riverside, cares all passed away, And with never a pain to bear, what a happy day. How I miss him and how I miss the simplicity of those days.

At a Tennessee Football Game---not a joke   Christianity is now the target of persecution...   THIS IS AS GOOD AS IT GETS! GOD BLESS EVERYONE WHO READS THIS AND PASSES IT ON.      I FIND IT INTERESTING THAT A HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL CAN SEE THE PROBLEM, BUT OUR SOCIETY CANNOT.       TennesseeFootballThis is a statement that was read over the PA system at the football game at Roane County High School , Kingston , Tennessee by school Principal, Jody McLeod   "It has always been the custom at Roane County High School football games, to say a prayer and play the National Anthem, to honor God and Country."   Due to a recent ruling by the Supreme Court, I am told that saying a Prayer is a violation of Federal Case Law. As I understand the law at this time, I can use this public facility to approve of sexual perversion and call it "an alternate life style," and if someone is offended, that's OK.   I can use it to condone sexual promiscuity, by dispensing condoms and calling it, "safe sex." If someone is offended, that's OK.   I can even use this public facility to present the merits of killing an unborn baby as a "viable" Means of birth control." If someone is offended, no problem...   I can designate a school day as "Earth Day" and involve students in activities to worship religiously and praise the goddess "Mother Earth" and call it "ecology.."   I can use literature, videos and presentations in the classroom that depicts people with strong, traditional Christian convictions as "simple minded" and "ignorant" and call it "enlightenment.."   However, if anyone uses this facility to honor GOD and to ask HIM to Bless this event with safety and good sportsmanship, then Federal Case Law is violated.   This appears to be inconsistent at best, and at worst, diabolical. Apparently, we are to be tolerant of everything and anyone, except GOD and HIS Commandments.   Nevertheless , as a school principal, I frequently ask staff and students to abide by rules with which they do not necessarily agree. For me to do otherwise would be inconsistent at best, and at worst, hypocritical. I suffer from that affliction enough unintentionally. I certainly do not need to add an intentional transgression.   For this reason, I shall "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's," and refrain from praying at this time.   " However, if you feel inspired to honor, praise and thank GOD and ask HIM,in the name of JESUS, to Bless this event, please feel free to do so.. As far as I know, that's not against the law--yet."   One by one, the people in the stands bowed their heads, held hands with one another and began to pray.   They prayed in the stands. They prayed in the team huddles. They prayed at the concession stand and they prayed in the Announcer's Box!   The only place they didn't pray was in the Supreme Court of the United States of America- the Seat of "Justice" in the "one nation, under GOD."   Somehow, Kingston , Tennessee Remembered what so many have forgotten. We are given the Freedom OF Religion, not the FreedomFROM ReligionPraise GOD that HIS remnant remains!         THIS IS AS GOOD AS IT GETS! GOD BLESS EVERYONE WHO READS THIS AND PASSES IT ON.
