The Probation Department is an integral part of Placer County’s public safety structure, charged with the supervision of adult and juvenile offenders granted probation by the Courts, Post Release Community Supervision offenders and Mandatory Supervision cases. Additionally, Probation operates the Juvenile Detention Facility, the Drug Court program, and anticipates the opening of the Placer County Re-Entry Program this fall. Probation investigates and prepares social history reports for both juvenile and adult offenders which assist the Placer County Superior Courts in making decisions on the disposition and sentencing of offenders.
