December 18 was a very exciting day for parents, teachers and children. It was the day of our annual Christmas Program. The teachers and children spend weeks learning songs and gathering costumes. It was a beautiful evening and the church was full.
Our director Sherry Jenkins, started the evening off with a wonderful slide show featuring everone favorite subjects, their children. The beautiful smiling faces lit up the screens set up on either side of the stage (just like a rock stars) and more than one or two people could not hold back tears. Was it the adorable kids or the music that accompanied the photos? Whatever it was, it was very touching.
Then our dance teacher brought out her ballet dancers who looked like ice angels. Oh my goodness they were adorable, and they KNEW it. Of course I chased them around with my camera before they ever hit the stage and they didn't mind posing! They were very good and knew their dance steps and tried their best to stay on the pieces of tape that the teacher had put on the floor to help them stay in line. Not easy to do when you try to dance, smile and wave at Mom and Dad, all at the same time. Again I saw (and sometimes Heard ) more tears.
Then each class by age presented their songs. Some of the children were into their second costume change! They sang and smiled, well one or two cried but THIS year nobody left the stage until their song was done!
The beautiful pictures to follow will tell the story and I hope everyone is represented. I tried my best to include all of our beautiful children. The parents sent every child looking their best and my heart just bursts with Love when I see their darling faces singing Christmas songs for their parents and for Baby Jesus in the manger at the front of the stage. Of course when they all headed off the stage Baby Jesus was left behing in the manger. Alone. Kids.
