The older youth of the church invite you to leave your bottles and cans beside the Session Room door between now and Sunday to help send the AVBC's very own missionary--Rollin--to do Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief Oct. 1-13. If you're interested in being AVBC's 2nd or 3rd or 4th missionary, call Debbie for details. We could gather enough $ to pay for several people's food on the ride down and back, and that's the only expense to participants.

The AVBC partners with other ABC-USA churches for mission. Here is an article about the ongoing work post-hurricanes Katrina and Rita. I imagine the AB Home Mission Society (ABHMS) will open opportunities for volunteering in TX very soon, as well.

Maybe you've been thinking about working on your relationship with God. The church is a great place to do that! This Sunday, we crank up for fall. The kids will leave worship after the Children's Time and have games to enjoy. After worship, we will all enjoy hamburgers and hot dogs.

On Sunday, we will "Meet in the Middle". Instead of sitting far away from others, I am asking that everyone fill the middle pews first. This is an experiment. We hope that people will be freed up to sit with others who come for Rally Day and Bring a Friend to Church Sunday on September 10.
