Sarasota Opera, now the only company in the world to have performed every work of Giuseppe Verdi, enters its 58th consecutive season of bringing world class opera to the southwest gulf coast. Consistently garnering international attention as one of the few places to experience rarely performed operatic works, Sarasota Opera continues to distinguish itself as one of the premiere opera companies in the United States by finding innovation through tradition.
The 2016-2017 festival season includes Donizetti's "Don Pasquale," the Premiere of "The Secret World of Og," Puccini's "Madama Butterfly," Rossini's comedy "The Italian Girl in Algiers," Poulenc's riveting "The Dialogues of the Carmelites," and the return of Montremezzi's "The Love of Three KIngs."
