Hoover Funeral Homes was established in 1896 in Berrysburg, PA by L. Wellington Hoover, and remained there until 1976. The business expanded to include a location in Millersburg in 1971, and then acquired an Elizabethville location in 1977. Brothers Dale & L. Richard Hoover managed the funeral homes until their retirement in the spring of 1999. At that time, Bradley S. Boyer a longtime employee, purchased the funeral homes. The current corporation Hoover-Boyer Funeral Homes, Inc. operates with Bradley S. Boyer, CFSP as its President, The Rev. Nathan Corl Minnich, CFSP as its Vice-President, and employs Robert M. Stianche, Jr. as a funeral director and Bennet S. Boyer as a funeral intern.
