Join us in Mid-July as we celebrate our Circus Heritage in Peru, Indiana with Great Family Entertainment in the American Tradition. Experience the beautifully costumed young performers who are so skilled that circus fans find it hard to believe they are amateurs; enjoy the rides, food, games and more on the main streets of Peru and for the grand finale, Peru's own Circus City Parade, one of Indiana's largest parades, steps off on the final Saturday.
Circus City Festival Inc. (CCFI) was formed in 1960 with the objective of reawakening Miami County's rich Circus Heritage. Dating back to the late 1800's many of the country's most famous circuses winter-quartered only a few miles southeast of Peru in Miami County. This area is now home of the famous International Circus Hall of Fame.
Since its' inception, CCFI has strived to enhance the quality of life for the people of Miami County through the implementation of Circus City Festival Days, the Peru Amateur Youth Circus, youth scholarship programs, and more. CCFI consists of an 18-member Board of Directors, several Big Top Key Personnel, and a tremendous amount of additional volunteers including the Circus City Booster Club (CCBC). These groups of Miami County community enthusiasts donate their time, energy, and ideas throughout the year to ensure the success of the CCFI and to enhance the Quality of Life for Miami County citizens.
