This 150 miles section of river located in the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument in north-central Montana, is truly a special and beautiful place. Little has changed since people first came into this magical area. We know the history of this land, the river, and the people, as it has been written in books. But more importantly, we have a knowledge of the unpublished stories, oral histories and folklore of the area. We know each bend, island, and river bottom along the Wild and Scenic Upper Missouri, and the history and lore associated with those sites. Whether your interests are in Lewis & Clark, the Fur and Robe Trade era & the Forts of the Upper Missouri, or Steam boating and that era's many colorful characters, or this area's earliest we know the history and we can show you the places where history was made.
