So grateful for the 200-plus Atria staff members who successfully implemented our natural disaster response plan for Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. It’s a point of pride when guests of the hotel are so moved by witnessing our team in action they write about it. #gograteful #atriafamily From Felicia and Ralph and family: "I feel compelled to write you after spending the past few days escaping the hurricane in the same hotel as your communities. I would ask that you share my feedback with the families of those who stayed here. First and only word. WOW. As a family with two young kids escaping the hurricane from South Florida with our older parents also in tow, I cannot express to you how amazing your staff is. How well thought out, organized and well coordinated your amazing team is. I will be honest. Getting trapped in the hotel with residents of your communities felt a little strange to us the first day or two, but as we witnessed the kind of care, compassion, activities and incredibly impressive detailed planning to keep the residents occupied during this very challenging time, we began to see things differently. We began to look forward to seeing your staff, to talking to a few of the residents and realizing how nice it is to see people who actually care in action. We met Ruth, a Holocaust survivor living in your Lantana location and Betty from your Springhill location and were very moved by them. Each different but so alive inside though maybe their shells may not be what they used to be. They were funny and quick witted and we really enjoyed spending time chatting in the lobby. We met Nicole Your director who came in from New York, Gisela a director from Lantana and one of your managers from Springhill and her husband. All so incredibly dedicated to the residents. So organized and in control. Seriously impressive! All the families of these residents should know that their parents, grandparents, great grandparents have been well looked after. It's been a very challenging time here in Florida but to have been put in this odd situation and meet such wonderful people has been a true silver lining. We have zero connection to Atria, never heard of your company before this week, but we wanted to you all to know how proud you must be of the people you have on your staff. The fact that you had hired extra people to come in along with the staff and their families to help in this very trying time, shows a sheer dedication to the care of your residents. We don't know how much longer we will be without power in our home in South Florida, but we are very happy to know that people like you exist in this world and we will continue looking forward to seeing your staff and residents during the duration of our stay here. Best regards and lots of love to all of your incredible staff and residents, Felicia and Ralph and family"

Amazing things happen when people come together to help one another. More than 200 Atria employees stayed with residents during recent catastrophic events. We are so grateful for their dedication and determination in times like these and couldn’t be more proud of our Atria Family. #goGrateful #HurricaneHarvey #HurricaneIrma #makinglemonadeoutoflemons
