Established in 1950, we began as a one man office under the name of Cannon Insurance in Leesburg, Georgia. In 1973, Robert J. Powell joined the agency as a partner, and the agency relocated to Albany, Georgia. In 1978, the agency incorporated under the name of Cannon & Powell Insurors, Inc.
Continuing our strength and expertise into the next century, in 1999 the operating name of the agency was changed to reflect the continuation of leadership. Doherty, Duggan & Rouse Insurors is lead by Richard D. Doherty, CPCU, President; Leonard, Duggan, CIC, Vice President; and Kirk L. Rouse, HIA, MSA, Vice President.
Effective January 1, 2013, the firm entered into a new era with Bo Hart and Ryan Tiernan becoming the newest principles of the agency. Hart has been with DDHT since 2005, and Tiernan since 2000. The agency name was changed at that time to Doherty, Duggan, Hart & Tiernan Insurors, with both Bo and Ryan installed as Vice Presidents, replacing Kirk Rouse in the Executive Leadership Team of the agency.
