Sno Pac Foods Inc

Sno Pac Foods is a family owned and operated organic farm and processing plant that was established in the early 1900s.

Gengler started a lumber business and on the side, harvested ice from a nearby spring fed pond, stored it in large ice houses and shipped it to the South by rail during the summer.

When mechanical refrigeration became available, Leonard Gengler built a cold storage facility where townspeople and local farmers could rent freezer space to store their food. Leonard also purchased a farm and began raising strawberries, gooseberries and vegetables which he processed and froze at his plant. Leonard always farmed organically, using natural products like compost, lime and green sand along with good crop rotation and soil conservation practices to sustain his land.

Demand grew for his fruits and vegetables. He supplied these regionally to consumers in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa. Before "healthy and clean eating" became popular, people bought Sno Pac's frozen organic produce simply because it tasted great.

Ramon Gengler took over the organic vegetable operation and expanded the product line as well as the market. He then passed the operation onto the fourth generation.

Today, our family continues to bring our organic fruits and vegetables to your family in the same tradition. In fact, some people still come directly to our facility to pick up their annual supply of fruits and vegetables. Many of them are third or fourth generation Sno Pac customers.
