MEETING FOR WORSHIP: SUNDAYS 10:30-11:30 AM, WEDNESDAYS 7:00-8:00 PM
Frederick Friends Meeting is a Quaker community brought together to know God and to answer that of God in everyone. We welcome people of all ages, races, sexual orientations, gender identities, and faith backgrounds.
We invite you to join us for worship. Worship is the foundation of our community life. It is also the best way to get to know us. We base our faith on our own experiences of the divine. We seek to experience God directly, within ourselves and in our relationships with others and the world around us.
Our focus is on our experience rather than the written statements of belief. Our community is based on sharing a powerful form of silent worship and a set of concerns for simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality, and stewardship. This leads us to translate our faith into action by working for social justice, supporting peacemakers, and caring for the environment.
The Quaker way has its roots in Christianity and finds inspiration in the Bible and the life and teachings of Jesus. Quakers also find meaning and value in the teachings of other faiths; we acknowledge that ours is not the only way.
