Apple County Farm Market
About our Apples. . .
Today, the ACFM orchards have over 700 semi-dwarf trees producing 30 varieties of apples including Gala, Fugi, Red Delicious, McIntosh, Cortland, Honeycrisp, Jonathon, Yellow and Golden Delicious, Winesap, Melrose, Rome and Granny Smith. So, whether you’re looking for a crisp, flavorful in-hand eating apple, or a tart and spicy variety for pies and cooking, ACFM is sure to have what you’re looking for.

At ACFM, the apple harvest season begins in early September and runs through November. In addition to the large variety of apples we offer, ACFM also produces fresh cider from apples that are smaller, poorly colored and less eye appealing. To enhance the flavor of our cider, a special blend of apples is used. All apples are washed thoroughly before being ground and pressed to produce an all natural product. No preservatives are added.

What we offer. . .
Throughout the summer and fall seasons, ACFM visitors can shop for fresh produce. We grow all of our vegetables including sweet corn, tomatoes, pep¬pers, cucumbers, beans, peas, melons, squash, zucchini and pumpkins, in addition to 30 varieties of apples. ACFM also offers other locally grown produce such as red raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, plums, pares and peaches.

Entertainment and Education – – The Maize® . . .
Each fall (late August – early November), ACFM operates The Maize® --a cornfield maze filled with trails cut through thousands of living cornstalks in a nine acre, life size maze of maize! The journey through the maze is filled with fun facts about the specially selected theme each year.

The Maize's goal is to provide top-notch entertainment and exciting educational opportunities to all that participate. Visitors can maximize their abilities by working together to meet The Maize Challenge!

Visitors obtain a game sheet that includes the theme’s storyline. Maizers follow helpful suggestions on the game sheet, answer questions and create their own map to navigate the twists and turns of the maze. The Maize is more than just a
cornfield maze—it’s a unique, fun filled, interactive adven¬ture for families and friends that entertains all who are willing to take the challenge. To ensure everyone finds their way out of the maze, patrons can signal for help by using the signal flag they received at the entrance. Help is never far away; staff members are stationed inside the maze to offer helpful hints to lost and frustrated Maizers.

More Fall fun . . .
In addition to The Maize, ACFM offers other family friendly events such as: pick your own pumpkins, pumpkin painting, scarecrow building, tractor-drawn hayrides, mini-maze (always popular with small children), polar bear train, photos of your kids with a scarecrow and pumpkin cut-out caricatures, pumpkin launcher demonstrations, lookout tower for The Maizers, campfires, farmyard play are, picnic grounds and farm animals!
