Did you know it’s #HBCUWeek? Historically black colleges and universities include the 1890 land-grant universities, which are educational institutions that place special emphasis on subjects like agriculture. Farm Credit is proud to have supported eight different 4-H delegations affiliated with these universities in 2017 as they completed the Citizenship Washington Focus summer program, where students spend a week in Washington, D.C. developing their leadership and citizenship skills. Three of these delegations received mini-grants from Farm Credit to implement projects that will positively impact their communities. Farm Credit Services of America customer-owner Jeff Nodlinski's grandpa, Milford "Pete" Nodlinski, is 99 years old and still drives to the family farm every morning. “I’ve never had any hobbies,” Pete said recently. “My hobby, I always said, was trying to raise a few more bushels of wheat.”
"Many times his feet have walked this soil, He has weathered both the hardships and the joy, Enduring both the good times and the bad."

Our thoughts are with all in Puerto Rico, including Puerto Rico Farm Credit and their customer-owners. Pictured is La Casa Grande dairy farm, which is owned and operated by young farmer Camilo Román Muñiz. We wish safety and strength for all as they face Hurricane Maria.
