Using a world map for perspective, we “moved” in a looping arc from Wittenberg, GER, to Denver to Guatemala City to Suriname to the new Lutheran Center in Juba, South Sudan. All of these communities receive World Hunger grants including Denver. Top Two Hunger Opponent Teams! Team Trailblazers 3,999 miles and Team Aarestad 3,075 miles In honor of each team, the Augustana Foundation is donating $1,517 to ELCA World Hunger! Thank you Foundation! $12,264.85 ELCA World Hunger $ 3,034.00 ELCA World Hunger by Augustana Foundation $15,298.85 TOTAL ELCA World Hunger (Goal met!) $ 9,507.00 Lutheran Disaster Response $ 24,805.85 Combined TOTAL June 4, Pentecost, through October 31, Reformation Day, the people of Augustana commemorated the 500 year anniversary of the Reformation by moving in exercise, advocacy, volunteering, and prayer, as well as giving money toward our $15,170 goal for ELCA World Hunger. With the hurricanes, the planning team combined gifts to Lutheran Disaster Response as Well over 200 people participated by walking, volunteering for hunger organizations, meditation and prayer, advocacy, golfing, running, biking, giving food to Metro Caring, biking, yoga, exercise class and many other activities. Thank you one and all who participated by moving, giving, cooking, planning, creating, and encouraging! Our gifts to ELCA World Hunger and Lutheran Disaster Response creatively and courageously work toward a world of justice in which ALL MAY EAT. Augustana Global Mission Team's purpose statement says: We believe our life and faith impact others for the sake of the Gospel! AMEN!
