Carolina Arts was born in 1997, when we decided to jump the SC border into NC covering the visual arts in both states. Shoestring Publishing company has been covering the arts in a monthly newspaper format since 1987, first in Charleston, SC, and then in SC.
Carolina Arts is supported by Carolina Arts Unleashed, a blog by Tom Starland, editor and publisher and Carolina Arts News, a blog featuring late breaking news about the Carolina visual art community.
Our headquarters is located on the eastern shore of Lake Moultrie in Berkeley County, near the town of Bonneau, South Carolina.
