We started out as a single building restoration shop in 1988. At that time, we only worked on the owners, Forrest Wilkerson's, cars. During this start up time, Mr. Wilkerson was in need of a talented restorer. After talking with a number of his friends who were also car enthusiasts, the name Butch Cook was very common. At this time, Butch was running Cook's Unlimited Garage a restoration and collision shop with his older brother. They started their business in 1983. They both shared a passion of automobiles. After hearing such high reviews about Butch's work Mr. Wilkerson decided he had to find him and see his work first hand. After meeting and speaking with Butch Mr. Wilkerson hired him, from there Mr. Wilkerson turned Vintage Cars into a business. Butch Cook has been our Shop Manager from the very beginning. Since then we have added four more buildings including a paint shop, upholstery building, a museum with a parts department, and a car building with a plastic media blast room. We have been restoring, rebuilding and creating classic automobiles ever since.
At Vintage Cars, we will never sacrifice quality for quantity. Whether we are working on a partial restoration, complete restoration or just some repair work each job is equally important. We take the time to work with you and will discuss any problems or concerns we have about your vehicle. Being in the restoration business for over twenty-two years, we know what it takes to restore your classic automobile. Every nut and bolt will be replaced and no issue or problem will be over looked. All the years we have been in the business our restorations are award winning, judges and spectators alike praise them.
Located in the small rural town of Fort Mill/Indian Land, South Carolina, we are twenty miles south of Charlotte, North Carolina. We encourage everyone to come out and look around. We may be busy but anyone of our experienced staff members will gladly give you a tour of our facility and museum. We like meeting new people who share our love for antique automobiles.
