Welcome back AVC Fall Semester students! We hope that everyone has a wonderful first day.

AVC officials have been informed that all Antelope Valley Transit Authority (AVTA) local bus service is currently suspended due to a driver strike. Riders are encouraged to check the AVTA website often for updates or call (661)945-9445. The college does not know when service will resume. This will effect the transportation of approximately 1,000 AVC students today for the first day of Fall semester. Students are encouraged to find alternate transportation, such as carpooling or ride share services to get to campus. If you are a student affected by the AVTA strike, please contact your instructor as soon as possible. If you are able to drive to campus, general parking permits are not required the first two weeks of classes. Disabled parking (including the misuse of disabled placards), staff parking and red zone violations are enforced 24 hours a day, seven days a week, year around.
