When Wes and Peggy Colgan founded Brush Creek Montessori school in 1973, their intent was to create a Montessori learning environment that would inspire students for many years to come. Indeed it has. BCMS is stronger than ever, thanks to our community of administrators, Board members, staff, students and parents. It takes all of us working together to insure this world-class educational institution maintains rigorous standards. It takes the entire community's dedication to the Montessori philosophy to help each child realize his or her potential and to cultivate an environment that encourages respectful engagement with the world.
Nearly 40 years of teaching the Montessori method to children in Santa Rosa has afforded us the opportunity to grow with the community at large. In fact, we now have alumni enrolled in our teachers' training program at the Maria Montessori Teacher Training Center here at BCMS. It is an honor to be part of a legacy that continues to grow our Montessori community here in Sonoma County.
