S. F. Gem & Mineral Society In

The San Francisco Gem & Mineral Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the education and enjoyment of its members and the community at large with respect to rocks, minerals, gemstones, lapidary arts and all things related. We have monthly meetings, at the club's own clubhouse in San Francisco, featuring speakers across the spectrum at every level, from dedicated hobbyists to world-renowned experts. The general public is always invited to attend free of charge.

For members, the club offers well equipped facilities for lapidary, jewelry-making, metal-work and related crafts six days per week. We have a stable of "instructors," covering almost every facet of the hobby. Someone is always scheduled to be at the clubhouse to help, one-on-one, with anything you need. Many of the club's members are quite accomplished in their areas of interest and are very helpful when asked. We also schedule periodic classes dedicated to specific areas of interest to members. We also have an extensive library of excellent reference materials and information, much of it available for lending for in-depth study at home. Members are encouraged to come in, take advantage of the facilities, catch up or keep abreast of club news and activities and socialize with other members. There's always an assortment of rough materials - minerals, rocks, slabs and etc. available on a first-come first-served basis.
