Hustons Haunted Hollow

THE HAUNTING BEGINS:
In the years following the Revolutionary War, the Huston family opened up a boarding house in a desolate hollow in the Appalachian Mountains east of Pittsburgh Pa. Boarders often stayed to work the local coal mines and sawmill or help with the annual crop harvest. Even the occasional Renegade Civil War solder would stop and share tales of the atrocities of the war.

The Huston’s adopted daughter Mae Bruner was the house mistress but after a disfiguring accident, began to exhibit certain evil tendencies. Each of her rooms had a wicked surprise awaiting her unsuspecting guests. Her reputation as a cruel landlady became known far and wide and eventually, no one ventured near the “Boarding House” for fear of becoming another one of “Mad Mae’s” permanent boarders! The house has long since been abandoned but some say that the malevolent spirit of Mad Mae still walks the property making sure that all of her guests…..sleep like the dead!

WHAT ELSE TO EXPECT:
Twisted Barn in 4D - Nothing was ever the same after the traveling circus came to town for an extended performance and took up residence in the boarding house barn. Mad Mae developed a particular fondness for the Ringmaster who mysteriously disappeared and was believed to be held captive somewhere on the boarding house property. Leaderless, the circus performers, including Twitchster the clown and his troupe of pranksters began terrorizing the boarding house guests with their own variety of cruel fun

Haunted Hayride / Toxic Swamp Walk - Getting there is half the fun…..or fright as you board your wagon for a ride across barren fields on your way to the worlds end and the abandoned coal mines and toxic swamp that lie beyond. The local coal mines employed many of the residents of the Bruner House. As the coal seams played out, the water began to flow orange with the vile and acidic mine drainage. Bruner House boarders who ventured into the area were exposed to the drainage and suffered horrible mutations. These hideous abominations continue to prowl the swamp in wait for unsuspecting visitors. Your sturdy wagon will protect you're forced to get off!

Dead End Cornfield -You can run but you can’t hide from the tortured spirits who spend eternity harvesting souls in this remote cornfield where the all you can see is the trail ahead of you until it stops…..and then it’s too late.

WHEN: Open Friday, Oct 3rd and Saturday, Oct 4th then every Friday and Saturday in October and Sundays Oct 19, 26 & Nov 1st & 2nd
Ticket Booth open 6:30 - 10:00 pm Fri and Sat / 6:30 - 9:00 pm Sunday

Huston's Haunted Hollow is a high startle, interactive haunted experience using strobe lights and artificial fog. Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike East to Somerset, Exit 10/110. From the tollbooth, travel 2/10th mile to second light. Make a right at light onto North Center Avenue/Route 281 South. Travel 6/10th of a mile to 3rd light. At light, make a right onto West Main Street/Route 281 South. Travel 9/10th of a mile, through 3 lights, stay in left lane and turn left following Route 281 South. Travel 1/10th of a mile, move to the right lane and turn right, staying on Route 281 South. Travel on Route 281 South approximately 6 miles to Huston's Haunted Hollow on left.

From Johnstown and Points North

Take Route 219 South to the second Somerset Exit (Friedens/Route 281). At the stop sign, make a right onto Route 281 South. Follow Route 281 South through Somerset. Stay on Route 281 South approximately 6 miles to Huston's Haunted Hollow on left.

From Bedford and Points East
