F&M/Schomer Insurance timeline: around 1913 - Stoll and Stoll incorporated their insurance agency calling it Stoll & Stoll Inc. 1960's - Agency's name was changed to Farmers & Merchants Insurance Agency Inc to reflect the bank which now owned it. 1990 - F&M Bank sold F&M Insurance to John Christenson of Crosby, MN, and he made it a sole proprietorship. June 1992 - Howie Schomer purchased the agency. He added several new property/casualty and life/health companies. January 1997 - Agency's name was changed to Schomer Insurance.
W. Schomer Agency/Pioneer Company timeline: 1963 - Schomer opened Willie Schomer Agency. 1985 - Agency name was changed to Pioneer Company Insurance. 1994 - After several business location changes, bought, renovated and moved into the old Coast-to-Coast building at 227 Main Street North, Pierz.
Merger occurs: March 1997 - After 's death in January, Howie purchased his father's agency. He merged it with Schomer Insurance, which moved from the bank to the present location at 227 Main Street North, Pierz.
