HOPE Center of Edmond was organized in April 1984 to meet a community need for a central agency to provide social services. The Center was developed by the Edmond Ministerial Alliance, an inter-denominational council of churches, with volunteers and a grant from the Edmond Women’s Club.
The purpose of HOPE Center is to meet the basic needs of members of the Edmond community by providing food, clothing, household items, and financial assistance for rent and utilities. In 2019, HOPE Center provided assistance to more than 20,000 families and individuals. This included food, clothing, household items, prescriptions, transportation, and rent and utility payments.
HOPEfully Yours, HOPE Center's resale shop, is a way for the Center to fully utilize all of the donations we receive for the maximum benefit of our clients. All donations are delivered to the Center at 1251 N Broadway, Suite A. Volunteers sort donations and stock the warehouse clothing room with items for clients. However, some items like draperies, formal gowns, dry-clean only and “overflow” clothing that can’t be used directly for clients are sold at HOPEfully Yours.
The revenue generated from the shop is used to fund the HOPE Center Health Clinic & WIC Office, and to purchase the milk, fruit, meat, and other perishable items that are included in food packages for clients.
