Premier Cooperative Inc

Premier Cooperative is an Illinois farmer owned cooperative providing agricultural commodities and energy products. We give the first step into the grain marketing channel. We offer outstanding service that is fast, efficient, and technologically advanced; delivered always with integrity. Our goal is to enhance the business of our farmer owners while supporting the communities in which we all live and work.

Premier Cooperative facilities, where grain initially enters the marketing channels, are maintained by full time millwright crews. The network of railroads and interstate highways serving our trade territory are indicative to the complete shipping capabilities of Premier Cooperative. The early Illinois Prairie settlers efforts to grow and market their crop, have been instrumental in making Premier Cooperative an important force in serving the world food economy as a farm cooperative with solid resources and modern facilities.

1904 Ivesdale Co-op Grain Company formed
1905 Sadorus Cooperative Elevator Company formed
1911 Fisher Farmers Grain & Coal Company formed
1916 Farmers Elevator Company of Jamaica Illinois formed
1962 Rising Farmers Grain Company formed
1967 Fisher Farmers Grain & Coal Company reorganized as a cooperative
1981 Savoy Grain Company, Ivesdale Co-op Grain Company and Sadorus Cooperative Elevator Company consolidated to form Grand Prairie Coop, Inc.
1981 Fisher Farmers Grain & Coal purchased Elliott Grain Company which included a bulk fuel business.
1982 Grand Prairie Coop, Inc. purchased elevator facilities at Philo, Sidney, Fulls Siding and St. Joseph after the failure of Champaign County Grain Association.
1984 Grand Prairie Coop, Inc. purchased elevator facilities at Broadlands, Longview and Block Station Longview and Block Station have since been dismantled and sold.
1985 Fisher Farmers Grain & Coal purchased elevators at Thomasboro, Gifford, Ellis and Reilly after the failure of East Central Illinois Grain Company.
1994 Grand Prairie Coop, Inc. purchased the Galesville elevator facility
1995 Fisher Farmers Grain & Coal purchased the Dillsburg elevator
1996 Grand Prairie partnered with Unity Grain Company to form United Prairie, for the purpose of expanding the agronomy services provided by both companies. The joint venture included plants at …………Ivesdale, Tolono, and Pierson Station.
1997 Monticello Grain Company became a partner in United Prairie, , adding its White Heath plant to the joint venture. Unity Grain and Monticello Grain have since become part of Topflight Grain Cooperative, Inc., the current partner of Premier Cooperative in United Prairie,
2009 Farmers Elevator Company of Jamaica merged with Grand Prairie Coop, Inc., adding facilities at Jamaica and Indianola.
2009 Fisher Farmers Grain & Coal Company and Grand Prairie Coop, Inc. consolidated to form Premier Cooperative, Inc.
2011 Rising Farmers Elevator Company merged with Premier Cooperative, Inc. adding facilities at Rising, Bondville, and Mahomet.
