The Society of the Holy Child Jesus (SHCJ) is an international community of Roman Catholic Sisters founded by Cornelia Connelly in 1846. Cornelia established a religious congregation that is responsive to the needs of the times, or in Cornelia's own words, "meet the wants of the age."
Today, through education, social programs, and partnerships, nearly 400 Sisters of the Holy Child continue Cornelia's legacy and the Society's mission of helping others to believe that God lives and acts in them and in our world. The Sisters also help hundreds of people develop their own gifts and talents so that they can find good jobs, break the cycle of poverty, and provide for their families.
