Philomatheon Society of the Blind Mission Statement
The purpose or purposes for which said corporation is formed are charitable, and especially to promote general welfare of blind and sightless persons: to bring together in one harmonious group the sightless and their sighted friends; to aid the sightless mentally, socially, morally and spiritually by provided programs for entertainment and for general uplift; to add to the happiness of the sightless in every way possible, and to assure the perpetuation of the work no carried on by The Philomatheon Society of the Blind of Cant, Ohio, Inc.; council, Welfare Association of the Sightless of Ohio; to purchase and won such real estate and other property as may be necessary; and to accept and receive donations and to accept and receive real and personal property by gift, grant, devise or bequest and to control, hold, manage, invest, reinvest, sell or dispose of, all property and sums of money coming into its possession, subject to such limitation as may be prescribed by law.
