Tutoring Chicago was formerly called Cabrini-Green Tutoring Program (in Chicago, IL). Beginning its 50th year of service, Tutoring Chicago provides free one to one after-school tutoring for over 500 students in grades one through six. Our students come from economically disadvantaged families mainly from the Near North, Near West and Logan Square neighborhoods. In 2011, we expanded to a satellite location at Goethe Elementary in the Logan Square neighborhood, and in 2016 we expanded to the Hope Institute Learning Academy in the Near West Side.
Tutoring sessions are held Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings from 6:00 pm to 7:30pm in both Lincoln Park and Logan Square and only Tuesday and Wednesday on the Near West Side. Each student is paired with his/her own volunteer tutor. The program provides a safe, stable learning environment and individualized attention for the children.
