Crescent Valley Baptist Church
Our Ministry:
We participate in ministries in the Victoria area and across the state, country and world through the Guadalupe Baptist Association, the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention. Locally we serve our community through:
Worship: Each Sunday at 11 AM and 6 PM we gather as a Church in worship. Here we praise and honor God through song, prayer and sound Biblical preaching and teaching.
Prayer: Prayer is the most important thing we do at Crescent Valley. We emphasize prayer in our corporate worship and in our personal lives, as well as meeting for prayer 6 PM every Wednesday.
Outreach: Every person needs a saving relationship with God through his Son our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of this, we believe every member should share the Good News of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ with each person they meet.
Fellowship: At Crescent Valley, we believe God has called us to biblical fellowship—to rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep.
Our Foundation:
At Crescent Valley Baptist Church we believe that to glorify God in this world we must stand on the great Biblical Truths of the Christian Faith:
We stand on the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God and the Lord and Savior of all whom turn from their sin and trust Him.
We stand on the Free Gift of Salvation. We believe that Salvation is God's free gift, which comes by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and cannot be earned or deserved.
We stand on the authority of Scripture. We believe the Bible is the inerrant, infallible, Word of God and thus the only true authority for what we believe and do in the Church as well as in our everyday lives.
We stand on the Fellowship of the Church. We believe the Church is a local fellowship of believers, who, because they love God and one another, meet together to honor and praise God through worship, service, and encouragement. We believe the local Church is God’s chosen tool to take the Good News to the world.
And, we emphasize our foundations by subscribing to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention, June 14, 2000.
How You Can Join Us:
We invite you to join us. At the end of the service, while the congregation sings the invitation hymn, you can walk down the aisle to the front of the auditorium, where the pastor will talk with you. You can join in one of three ways:
I. Profession of Faith: Every person needs a saving relationship with God by grace through faith in his Son the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible calls us to turn from our sin and publicly declare faith in Him and be baptized into a local Church fellowship. To be a member of Crescent Valley Baptist Church you must be born again by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
Here’s how to have a saving relationship with God through his Son:
(1) Agree with God that you are a “sinner”--that you are separated from God by your sin: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23.
(2) Realize that your sin will send you to Hell: “For the wages of sin is death (Hell), but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23
(3) Realize that you must be changed to have a saving relationship with God: “Jesus answered and said to Him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3
(4) Believe that Jesus provides the only way you can be changed: “Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but through me.” John 14:6
(5) Trust Jesus’ death and resurrection to forgive your sin and make you into a “New Creation” who is saved and right with God: “That if you confess with your mouth Jesus {as} Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, "whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.”” Romans 10:9-11
(6) Be baptized into a local Church fellowship as a public sign of your faith.
II. Letter: If you are a member of another Southern Baptist Church, you can move your membership by telling us where you are currently a member. We then contact that Church and request your membership letter from them.
III. Statement: We receive members from other churches who do not, or are unable to grant a letter, yet provide a baptism of like faith and order. Our pastor will advise you concerning this matter.
