Pierce County Fire District 16

5
The Fire District was officially organized on November 4, 1952. Today, we are a combination department with 24 shift members divided into 3 shifts that work 24 hours per shift. The only stations that are staffed 24 hours a day are the Home and Wauna stations, unless of course they are out serving the citizens of the KP. When there are 7 or more firefighters on duty, we will then staff the Wright-Bliss road station as well.
There are also roughly 25 to 30 volunteer members who support the mission of the district, they bulk up staffing on shift and perform community support functions.
