Hiking and taking pictures.....two of my favorite things. Pine and rain.....two of my favorite smells. Last night's session at Devil's Lake with the beautiful Willow had it all! #grateful #lovemyjob

Grace and I met down on the square at the Dane County Farmers' Market Saturday for her model shoot. How many teenagers do you know are willing to meet at 6:15 in the A.M.??? I still have ONE spot open for a senior session in June at $50 off the session fee! July is BOOKED and then we're looking at just a handful of spots open for August! I won't have a 6:15 a.m. session.....unless you want one!

We started Mackaela's session with a carnival theme in the West Towne Mall parking lot last night! I had high hopes for the location but in all honesty, it just didn't do much for me! The atmosphere just wasn't there. Sure the midway was colorful but as I've learned, there is more to a location than meets the eye. The energy has to be there and for whatever reason, the mall parking lot carnival just didn't show up for us. Maybe it was all the concrete, or maybe it was the mall security guy watching us shoot! Who knows? My plan B was a field of yellow dandelions but as you can see we were a bit late for that! It's funny how things work out...... I would have probably never planned to shoot in a field of seeded out dandelions but these turned out to be one of my favorite sessions ever! If you can believe it, these were all shot in a small field just a few steps off Mineral Point Road! It truly goes to show that a great location can be found in the least obvious of spots and that the LIGHT and your SUBJECT are what's important. I'm sure at some point I'll blog our shots from the carnival but for now......enjoy my favorite images of Miss Mackaela in a dandelion field <3 Summer is almost booked, folks!

It's hard to believe I photographed this lovely lady's newborn picture!!! Actually if we want to get technical, I photographed her in utero when I photographed her Mom's maternity session all those years ago! Her Mama has been my BFF since middle school so I guess that's to be expected! The only thing stranger than my own daughter graduating this year is Miss Ellie graduating next year! She has grown up to be a fine young woman. Which if you knew her parents you would say is amazing.....I kid.....I kid :P Steve and Holly what a wonderful daughter you have raised!! <3 you guys!

“You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop” – Rumi A super heartfelt thank you to Nina for renting me her amazing, bohemian airbnb for this shoot! And killed it, darling! Now booking Class of 2018!
