JoVitos Italian Cafe opened in 2002 under the ownership of the Scaglia family, the visionaries behind Mario’s family restaurants beginning in Kansas City in 1969. Mario’s restaurants are where the grinder sandwich was born, and now this and many other traditional family recipes are available at JoVitos!
The newest chapter of the JoVitos story begins with Kansas City native Leasa Caron, who carries on the Scaglia family traditions and recipes. With decades of business know-how and old-school Italian cooking under her belt (or apron, perhaps?), you’re guaranteed to find delicious food and great conversation at JoVitos.
