Kay Goldsworthy replaces Roger Herft as the Archbishop of Perth

An invitation from Edwina Simpson, Companion from our Ann Arbor Chapter ~ In this time of so much frightening violence and uncertainty in our country and around the world, I invite you to join me in meditating through a breath prayer on (breathing in) God’s love and (breathing out) God’s peace and nonviolence to the world. Because I believe in the power of prayer, especially when lots of people are focusing on the same purpose, please join me in spending five minutes or so each day inhaling God’s love and exhaling God’s peace and nonviolence into the world. I also ask you to share this invitation with your friends and family. I truly believe our breath prayers, joining together in some mysterious way, will make a difference!

I went to sleep with the sound of sabers rattling all around me and I awoke to find the world still anxious about the threat of war. These are the rare moments in history when we all hold our breath. The historical limit to human leadership seems so clear when the push of a button can end that history. I have been praying hard that people keep talking before they decide to act impulsively. I know you have too. May the Spirit do what alone we cannot do: restore a sense of calm, open up new paths of dialogue, give peace time enough to serve the cause of justice. ~ Bishop Steven Charleston (https://www.facebook.com/bishopstevencharleston)
This page offers the spiritual reflections of Steven Charleston, a Native American elder, author, and retired Episcopal bishop of Alaska.

Amen and thank you Steven Charleston.
A change is coming. I can feel it in my spiritual bones. Can you? Something is about to happen, something good, something new. Sacred time is about to pass through everyday time. It will shift how we think about our future. A more hopeful set of possibilities will emerge, inviting each one of us to respond. The old-timers used to say they could feel the rain before it came, feel it in their bones. That's what it seems like, as if there was a message hidden deep inside us, waiting to come out and bless the world. I think we should be alert these days. A change is coming.
