The Library is located in the Price Mall which is at the northwest corner of front and K streets opposite of the Del Norte County Chamber of Commerce.
The main branch library was established as the Ladies Library by volunteers in 1906. The library moved to its current location in February 1983. The Smith River branch opened in April 2002 and is staffed entirely by volunteers.
The library system holds over 54,000 materials – books, magazines, DVDs, Videocassettes, compact discs, audio books, and more
The Regular Meeting of the Library Board of Trustees is held monthly on the fourth Thursday at 9:00 in the Library Reading Room. Public notice of the monthly meetings and agenda items are provided in advance.
Library offers Free use of books, videos, DVDs, audio books, music CDs, magazines and online resources, WI-fi, internet access and zip books (alternative to ILL). A constant Book sale in the lobby. Free Downloadable kindle books , audiobooks and eBooks. we also offer chrome books.
