Ankeny Tire & Battery was first opened in the 1930’s by Louis Fontanini; in uptown Ankeny before moving to its current location where it still stands today. In 1962, the business and location was bought by Merle Johnson. He proceeded to own and run the most trusted and well known auto repair shop in Ankeny. In 1983, his nephew Tony Johnson became a partner and continues on in the history and tradition that Ankeny Tire & Battery is still known for. Upon Merle’s retirement, his son Jeff Johnson took over his partnership with Tony. Today Ankeny Tire & Battery is known for exceptional auto repair work by an honest team that you can trust to keep you on the road safely!
