The story about Polestar Benefits, Inc. can be interesting to some. Originally "Polestar" was an online aggregation platform to consolidate employer group plan premiums, remit those to the carriers electronically and ease the administration woes of HR Managers. Through the trials of creating the application, third party administration (TPA) services were added to internalize COBRA administration and other lines of services.
Out of necessity, the online application was scrapped and the services (COBRA administration , HRA & FSA administration) setup to support "Polestar" were launched to the open market in 2005, with an approach to be open to work with all, but partner with only some.
Our marketing approach may have seemed risky, but it has paid off. And with a promise to "do it right the first time" we continue to build one of the best reputations in the markets we serve, while still working on pushing the edge of the envelope through technology and creating an experience our customers can't get anywhere else.
