In 1923 John Taylor, founder of Taylor Cable Products, invented the universal battery cable as we know it today. Before this battery cables were unique to the automobile manufacturer. High Performance Ignition wire sets and OE wiring harnesses soon followed.
Taylor moved from a small shop on McGee Trafficway in Kansas City to a 100,000 sq foot facility in the Kansas City suburb of Grandview, MO in 1972. Bill and June Beaver purchased Taylor in 1980 and in 1994 acquired Vertex Magnetos - which originated in Switzerland where they were used in aircraft during World War I. In September 2011, Taylor Cable Products purchased Percy’s High Performance adding another great brand to an already legendary lineup. Although there have been many changes in the Automotive Industry since 1923, Taylor’s commitment to innovative quality products has endured. As a result, Taylor remains an industry leader and continues to provide the best ignition wires in the world!!
From the skies over Europe during World War I, to the Street Rods and Car Shows in every town across America, to the high banks of Daytona, Taylor/Vertex products are wartime dependable, dyno tested, & race proven.
