Established in 1968, Discovery Preschool is a non-profit, non-denominational cooperative preschool where teachers and parents work together to offer two NAEYC accredited, 5 STAR programs for children ages 3 to 5.

Our Primary Goal
We treat each child as an individual who actively learns at his/her pace and in his/her style. We create a learning environment in which the activities and social interactions encourage individuality, independence, positive self-esteem, creative expression, communication skills, cooperation, physical and spiritual awareness, concept development, respect for living things, and a desire to learn through exploration. Through integrated experiences in all areas of the curriculum, we foster the growth of the whole child - emotionally, socially, cognitively, physically and creatively. We do not differentiate between work and play. Every experience is an opportunity to learn.
Play-Based Learning
Children learn through play. Play contributes to the optimal development of children, including the building of gross motor, fine motor, cognitive, sensory, social and emotional skills. Our program is enhanced by a stimulating environment both indoors and outdoors which invites children through self-directed play to think, wonder, question, problem solve and learn through their playful interactions (discoveries) with their environment.
